SeniorAffair publishes free guides for adults 55+ and the families who help them. This page explains how our articles are made, how we check them, and how to tell us when we get something wrong.
How our articles are made
- Most articles are drafted with the help of AI writing tools. A person then reviews and edits every article before it is published.
- Greg Wilson, founder and editor-in-chief, is responsible for what SeniorAffair publishes.
- We choose topics based on the questions older adults and caregivers ask most: Medicare, money, health, housing and everyday life after 55.
How we check facts
- Figures for Medicare, Social Security and other government programs (premiums, deductibles, enrollment dates, eligibility rules) are checked against official sources such as Medicare.gov, CMS.gov and SSA.gov before an article is published.
- Government figures change every year. When new numbers are released, we update the articles that use them.
- Unless an article says otherwise, it has not been reviewed by a doctor, licensed insurance agent, attorney or financial adviser.
- Unless a product review says we tested the product ourselves, it is based on the maker’s published information, specifications and customer feedback.
Dates
Each article shows when it was published. We change an article’s date only when we make a meaningful update to its content.
Information, not advice
Our articles are general information, not medical, legal, insurance or financial advice. For help with a Medicare decision, you can get free, unbiased counseling from your State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP), or talk to a licensed agent. For health questions, talk to your doctor.
How we make money
SeniorAffair is free to read. We earn commissions when readers buy through some of our links, and referral fees when readers ask a partner named on one of our forms to contact them. Articles paid for by a partner are labeled as sponsored. Payments do not change our facts. See our Affiliate Disclosure and Privacy Policy for details.
Corrections
If you find an error, email greg@senioraffair.com with the subject “Correction” and a link to the article. We review every report, fix confirmed errors promptly, and note significant corrections at the end of the article.
